Cisco: Announces Cisco Nexus Dashboard Open Ecosystem Expansion at ServiceNow

Active IT operations, incident automation and self -healing networks

Today marks another important milestone for Cisco’s hybrid-cloud operations initiatives. We are excited to announce the availability of new operational tools for the Cisco Nexus Dashboard with our strategic partner ServiceNow: Nexus Dashboard Connector for ServiceNow and Cisco Cloud Network Insights App for Now Platform.

This announcement follows Cisco’s unveiling of Nexus Dashboard 2.1, a single pane glass agile platform for lifecycle multi-cloud networking automation and operations to deploy, run and manage your infrastructure with ease . With Nexus Dashboard 2.1, we introduced open APIs and platform capabilities for 3rd party developers to build Apps and services on the Nexus Dashboard, thus giving our customers the choice and flexibility to no broken integrate with existing IT software tools in their multi-cloud networks.

Cisco Nexus Dashboard, along with Nexus Dashboard Insights and Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator offer a wide range of platform services, open REST APIs and Kafka subscription services for third-party developers to build custom application and integration. Using this platform’s open APIs and services, we have released out-of-the-box tools that unlock important use cases by integrating with ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM).

Today, we are proud to congratulate our strategic technology partner, ServiceNow for the concerted effort and highlight the use cases unlocked by these integrations.

Network Service Advances and Incident Management: Cisco Nexus Dashboard and ServiceNow

By monitoring service health, identifying service interruptions, and helping solve problems, cloud-based business service management solutions offer critical insights and control. When complex network problems arise, service management solutions require deeper insights into the network administrator’s intent to identify, diagnose, or solve them. This resolution requires difficult investigation and troubleshooting. Once the problem is identified and understood, network administrators need to create a ticket, resolve the problem, verify the fix, and close the ticket.

The Cisco Cloud Networking team and ServiceNow have a strong partnership that spans several years to deliver deep product and solution integration that will help customers address critical service management challenges that include aligning their infrastructure to meet critical business services, accelerating network service delivery through approval -based workflow automation and compliance with SLAs through incident automation. These solutions cover Cisco ACI, NX-OS, Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator and Nexus Dashboard Insights authentication capabilities.

The latest addition to the Cisco-ServiceNow joint portfolio is the integration between the Cisco Nexus Dashboard and the ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM solutions. The solution consists of two new components – Cisco Cloud Network Insights App for the ServiceNow Platform and Nexus Dashboard Connector for ServiceNow, a plugin for the Cisco Nexus Dashboard. IT operations teams can now automate the lifecycle of incidents for Cisco Infrastructure and operational tools, as well as the delivery of their ServiceNow IT services from the Nexus Dashboard.

The Cisco Cloud Network Insights App for ServiceNow enables customers to automate incident management and assignment for network anomalies and advisory, thereby helping network teams address potential issues. in the network and prevent outages promptly.

  • Fast communication: Act quickly on critical incidents using alerts in their chosen medium (Emails, Webex Teams, Slack)
  • Customized reporting: Create custom reports for network anomalies to monitor and report SLA compliance
  • Speed up troubleshooting: Speed up troubleshooting with the ability to cross-launch the Cisco Nexus Dashboard in the context of an incident

With the introduction of the ServiceNow Connector for the Nexus Dashboard, we bring ServiceNow incident management capabilities to the Nexus Dashboard that allow network operators to manage the lifecycle of their ServiceNow incidents, track incident updates and deliver their service requests to the Nexus Dashboard.
