Cobalt Iron, a SaaS-based enterprise data protection provider, announced a new user-configurable API integration with ServiceNow.
The integration means that the Cobalt Iron Compass enterprise SaaS backup platform can now communicate directly with ServiceNow’s digital workflow platform, which will bring more efficient problem-solving workflows for companies using ServiceNow format services.
With Compass, backup, archive, and recovery events can occur on a planned and manual basis as needed. ServiceNow API integration enables these event details to be sent to ServiceNow products without the need for intermediate messaging service intervention.
The company stated that this enables backup management administrators to work more efficiently, with customizable control over the backup, recovery, and restoration of event messages sent directly to its ServiceNow product via the ServiceNow API.
Event data is transmitted from Compass Commander GUI to ServiceNow via SNMP or SMTP message service.
Paul Linder, product development manager at Cobalt Iron, said that the API integration with ServiceNow was created in response to customer needs and to continuously improve the ease of use of the industry’s backup administrators.
“Through this API integration, the backup administrator only needs to enter the service configuration as a target into Compass Commander, and event notifications will be sent.”
The new ServiceNow API integration is a native integration of Compass and can be used immediately. Customers can configure their event notifications to be sent to the ServiceNow API today.
Cobalt Iron has multiple integration partners, including BMC, VMware and Microsoft, and its certified platform partners include Google Cloud, AWS, Azure and IBM.
In addition, the company recently partnered with system integrator Rahi to provide its solutions to the Middle East and Africa.
