DigiCert today announced a collaboration with ServiceNow, a leading digital workflow company. ServiceNow simplifies personnel work through ServiceNow’s comprehensive DigiCert CertCentral application, thereby simplifying certificate management.
Sree Subramaniam, Director of Product Management at ServiceNow ITOM, said: “This collaboration allows us to achieve the common goal of helping companies deal with digital transformation by using ServiceNow to provide IT teams with simplified and automated certificate management.”
DigiCert Product Management Director Steve Durham said: “DigiCert is pleased to announce a pioneering collaboration with ServiceNow to integrate our industry-leading certificate manager CertCentral into ServiceNow.” TLS certificate expiration has caused multiple service interruptions. Our integration with ServiceNow certificate inventory and management store applications will help corporate customers use the CertCentral application to automate certificate issuance and other management tasks to reduce downtime, meet industry compliance requirements, and improve operations. “
Digital conversion and the rapidly increasing demand for digital certificate deployment, as well as the ever-shortening certificate life span, have caused IT teams to increase their workload. In addition, the requirements of the CA/Browser Forum also stipulate that for key leaks and similar incidents, the certificate must be replaced within 24 hours. If the information changes or there is a technical blank in the certificate content, the certificate must be replaced within five days. Using spreadsheets and notifications to manage certificates is no longer feasible.
The huge scale and continuous changes of public TLS certificate policies require automation and intelligent workflow management to avoid the high costs of expired or non-compliant certificates. According to an IBM study, serious interruptions caused by expired or revoked certificates may take several days to resolve, and the hourly interruption cost exceeds $500,000. DigiCert and ServiceNow enable companies to benefit from the best-in-class certificate management digital workflow, while at the same time managing ServiceNow applications in one place to manage all IT operations.
In ServiceNow’s CertCentral Manager application, users and administrators can manage the entire certificate life cycle, including:
·Request, edit and download certificates
·Approve, reject and edit requests and manage users
· Assign roles to ensure proper workflow
