The former “Mr. Mayor has a new title” Jerry Sanders: “Mr. San Diego.”

On September 15, the San Diego Rotary Club bestowed the new moniker on Sanders. Since 1952, the club has awarded the title of a Mr., Mrs. or Ms. in recognition of outstanding community service in the region.

This year, Sanders was honored for more than 50 years of service to the San Diego community. He began his service with the San Diego Police Department in 1973 where he worked his way up to the top before leaving the department in 1999. He then served three years as president and CEO of the United Way of San Diego County before taking the role as board chairman of the San Diego/Imperial County chapter of the American Red Cross.

In 2004, Sanders was elected mayor and served until 2012. He has been president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce since leaving office, overseeing the West Coast’s largest chamber representing more than 2,000 businesses and an estimated 300,000 jobs.

The Department of the Navy has awarded San Diego-based Innovatus Technology Consulting an 8-year, $20 million+ contract to support the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Solutions project for the BMC Remedy ITSM system at the Naval Information Warfare Center ( NIWC) Pacific.

Over the next eight years, Innovatus will support software and systems engineering, design, development, configuration, integration, testing and life cycle support services.

BMC Remedy ITSM Enterprise is a service management platform that uses intelligent automation-enabled dashboards and analytics to transform best practice ITSM principles into modern agile service solutions and improved resource decision.

The Lawyers Club of San Diego named Dr. Ivy Kosmides as the organization’s new Executive Director. Kosmides previously served as the Lawyers Club’s Senior Director of Programming and Development. Before joining the Lawyers Club in 2018, Kosmides worked as an adjunct professor for the University of Redlands. He has a Ph. D. and Master in International Economics and is also a trained chef and former yoga instructor.

“The Lawyers Club has an unparalleled core of passionate volunteers dedicated to advancing our mission and advocating for women’s rights in the legal profession and beyond,” said Kosmides.

“Ivy is an experienced and dynamic leader,” said Shannon Finley, president of the Lawyers Club and a shareholder at Pettit Kohn Ingrassia Lutz & Dolan. “His diverse background, education and passion for our mission do [her] a perfect fit for this position.”

Founded in 1972, the Lawyers Club of San Diego is the largest specialty bar association in San Diego, and its mission is to advance the status of women in law and society.
