Enterprise software provider ServiceNow’s revenue in Australia and New Zealand increased by nearly a third, but it barely reduced its overall loss.
For the year ended December 31, 2020, the company reported revenue of approximately A$335 million, an increase of 31% from A$256 million in the previous year.
At the end of the year, there was a loss of A$30 million, a decrease of 6% from A$31 million in the same period last year.
One of ServiceNow’s biggest costs is the A$151 million “dealer fee” it paid to the Dutch parent company in 2020, which is A$54 million more than the amount paid in 2019.
This year, the cost of ServiceNow’s services increased by 37%, from 186 million Australian dollars to 255 million Australian dollars, and employee benefits also increased by nearly 20%, from 100 million Australian dollars to 119 million Australian dollars.
The company’s financial report to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) showed that the company paid A$2 million in income tax, a decrease of A$300,000 from the previous year.
Broken down, these data show that the revenue from ServiceNow’s service fees (or server management fees) has surged, from A$20 million to A$29 million, an increase of 43%.
Its broader subscription services accounted for the largest share of total revenue, which increased by nearly a third, from A$220 million to A$290 million.
At the same time, professional services and other income grew by only 2.1% to A$15 million.
In fiscal year 2020, ServiceNow signed partnerships with Accenture and Vonage. It also extensively expanded its partner programs and solutions, including new partner markets, new application frameworks, and new “successful methods” for partners to learn from.
