Workflow software provider ServiceNow plans to expand its development and IT operations management capabilities by acquiring Sweagle, a Belgian configuration data management provider.

Sweagle was founded in 2017 by CEO Mark Verstockt and CTO Benny Van de Sompele. The company says its technology makes it “easy to manage all configuration data in infrastructure, applications, and environments into an integrated data model with complete lifecycle support.”

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. However, it is expected that Sweagle’s technology will enable ServiceNow customers to use machine learning to identify and help prevent potential misconfigurations from causing production interruptions and speed up repairs.

Indeed, with Sweagle, ServiceNow claims that its customers will be able to identify and intercept application and infrastructure inconsistencies in the agile development cycle.

Together with its developers and IT operations management health solutions, Sweagle’s solution is expected to help accelerate the new launch of ServiceNow by managing the configuration data of public and private cloud environments and modern application architectures such as microservices, containers, and serverless computing.
