ServiceNow partner Thirdera acquires the 5th company, UX/UI skills

ServiceNow

Thirdera, a ServiceNow partner in Leesburg, Virginia, acquired a UX/UI design agency and established a digital consulting business unit.

The acquisition of Appoxio, a UX/UI design agency focused on ServiceNow, marks the fifth acquisition of Thirdera since its establishment in February 2021. At that time, Thirdera merged regional ServiceNow partners Evergreen Systems, Cerna Solutions, and Novo/Scale into one company. In May, Thirdera acquired Service Line Solutions, a partner of ServiceNow in Australia.

Thirdera CEO Jason Wojahn said that the addition of Appoxio will help customers improve their work processes. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta.

In the ServiceNow environment, workflows automate multi-step business processes. The version of ServiceNow released in Quebec earlier this year added a process optimization function, allowing partners to analyze the processes under the business workflow.

Wojahn points out that the improved workflow starts with designing intuitive and efficient experiences for customers. This is where Thirdera Digital comes in. The business unit will house 40 UX/UI employees of Appoxio and approximately 30 to 40 Thirdera employees who specialize in UX/UI or have skills in the field.

Wojahn said that improving the customer experience can drive greater adoption and participation by ServiceNow customers, resulting in a better return on investment for workflows that organizations use SaaS products to build.

Thirdera plans to expand its digital design skills from North America to Asia Pacific and Europe. “We will extend these digital capabilities to every region we are in,” Wojahn said.

While Thirdera continues its acquisition strategy, it is also growing organically. Wojahn said the company has hired more than 150 employees in the past 100 days, and the number of employees has increased to more than 465. The consulting company employed 120 employees when it was founded.

Buyers have been keen to buy cloud professional services companies in 2021, and the demand for ServiceNow experts and Salesforce ecosystem partners is particularly strong.

Dell channel sales soared in the second quarter

Dell Technologies said that channel revenue for the second fiscal quarter ending July 2021 increased by 45% year-on-year, higher than the 14% in the first quarter.

Cheryl CookCheryl Cook

Dell’s client technology business line, including personal computers, laptops and peripherals, contributed to channel expansion, an increase of 84% year-on-year. Cheryl Cook, Dell Technologies’ senior vice president of global channel marketing, said that Dell’s so-called “anywhere” economy presents huge opportunities for customers’ businesses.

Cook also pointed out that cross-selling is an ongoing opportunity for Dell’s channel partners. Since merging with EMC in 2016, Dell has been encouraging partners to take advantage of its broader product portfolio.

Cook said that partners who cross-sell Dell products usually benefit from higher revenue expansion. Cook pointed out that the revenue growth of channel companies that sell Dell’s client, server, and storage business lines is 8 times that of partners that sell two business lines, and 39 times that of partners that sell one business line.

The Benelux Economic Union becomes the M&A portal for U.S. IT service companies

Traditionally, the UK has provided an M&A portal for US IT service companies seeking to expand in Europe.

Research by Cap Expand Partners, a Belgian financial consulting company, shows that some of the acquisition activities are shifting to the three countries of the Benelux, namely Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. According to data from Cap Expand Partners, the number of IT service transactions from the United States to the Benelux Union doubled in the first half of 2021 compared to the first half of 2020.

The company reported that in the same period, the number of U.S.-U.K. transactions fell by a third. Sergio van Luijk, managing director of Cap Expand Partners, said that this model will continue until the second half of 2021.

van Luijk said that the shift in cross-border transactions may have originated from Brexit. The UK left the EU trade bloc on January 31, 2020. The Benelux countries are member states of the European Union.
