Workflow expert Servicenow will appoint a new president and CEO: From January 2020, Bill McDermott (photo) will lead the company. In these positions, McDermott will succeed John Donahoe, who will join Nike as president and chief executive officer. However, during the transition phase, Dohnahoe will continue to serve as CEO of Servicenow and will retain his seat on the board until the end of June 2020.

McDermott served as CEO from 2014 to October 2019. Prior to that, he served as SAP co-CEO for three years. During this period, he almost tripled the market value of SAP to 140 billion U.S. dollars and developed the company into a global enterprise with 437,000 customers. Before joining SAP for many years, he held management positions at Siebel and Gartner, and started his career with Xerox for 17 years.

McDermott has extensive global leadership experience in enterprise software and a mature understanding of transformative growth and strong shareholder value, his new employer said. Jeff Miller, the lead independent director of the Servicenow leadership team, is very confident: “The board is very pleased that Bill McDermott has joined the company.”

At the same time, Servicenow will announce preliminary results for the third quarter of 2019. GAAP quarterly subscription revenue increased by 35% year-on-year, reaching $835 million. Total sales increased by 32%, just below $836 million. The final figures will be announced soon. (ubi)
