The service says it will integrate its service management and operational visibility tools with IBM’s Watson software that will automate IT operations with artificial intelligence.

The partnership aims to integrate IBM’s Watson AIOPS and Serverno’s IT service management and operations management visibility as ventures seek to automate more enterprises. IBM and Service initially partnered in 2011 and extended the agreement in 2018 to include the services.

Under the partnership, the two companies will initially launch software that will use IT service management historical event data to train Watson AIOPS algorithms. The idea is that enterprises can find the basic path of their common IT environment using two common platforms and then identify the discrepancies more quickly.

Michael Gilfix, vice president of cloud integration at IBM, said AIOPS would be integrated into Servanov’s workflow. Gilfix said, “Opportunity here is creating a new environment for how IT works together.

Pablo Stern, senior vice president of IT workflow products at ServiceNav, said the combination with IBM has enabled customers to support the new IT infrastructure needed for digital transformation.

The joint effort will include:

  • IT Services Management of ServiceNow;
  • ServiceNow’s IT operations management visibility;
  • IBM Watson AIOPS to detect, diagnose and respond to IT discrepancies.
  • IBM will now also expand the practice to provide consulting, implementation and managed services for the service platform.
