This is the week of opportunity for the channel! A number of significant tenders have opened; the most notable being the Digital Victoria Marketplace. It has passed the testing phase and needs a contractor to maintain and improve it when it goes live next year!
The next largest opportunity is a multi-agency tender for analytics and business intelligence platform with the NSW government.
Outside the tender-world, it’s been a week of conflict! TPG and Telstra have released a flurry of reports on argue that their spectrum and network-sharing deal is not a merger as claimed by Optus. We will find out in mid-October when the ACCC inquiry reaches a verdict!
Meanwhile, AWS, Google, Meta and other technology giants have come out strongly against data localizationsaying the proposal, which aims to stop the unsecured transfer of data across borders, could in fact increase government surveillance and curtail internet freedoms.

In the Federal Government, The Department of Defense is in need of an Integrated Land Target Systems Contractor. The tender will close on 4 October.
DFAT has opened a tender for the operation of its IT Services Desk. The contract winner will provide “first level support, second level end user computing support and selected IT service management services on a 24×7 basis for all ICN infrastructure.” It closes on September 19.
The Australian Electoral Commission is seeking information to inform the design and procurement to support the replacement of key AEC systems, including its electoral roll management system, general registry election support information system and election management system. It closes on September 19.
In NSW, A tender has been opened for an analytics and business intelligence platform to be used in multiple government agencies. It closes on September 20.
Canterbury Bankstown Council requires an Integrated Intelligent Parking System and opened tender closing on September 13th.
The Department of Education is seeking information on the current state of the art technology related to detailed imaging of buildings. It closes on September 15.
In South Australia, The Tourism Commission is looking for a ‘Digital Asset Management System in the form of the South Australia Media Gallery‘, it will close on October 10, 2022.
In Tasmania, The Department of Treasury and Finance is ‘perpetually open’ for applications to improve its development services, data analysis, project management and business analysis, operational technical services, cyber security and strategic advisory and consulting. No need to rush!
The Department of the Premier and Cabinet has opened a ‘Networking Tasmania Data and Internet Services’ tenderwhich closes on 10 October.
Needed by the Department of Justice a new service management system. It will close on October 5, 2022.
In Queensland, Safe Food Production has opened a request for information on Digital Transformationcloses on September 16.
Central Queensland University released a tender for a data catalog. It closes on September 19.
The Queensland Parliamentary Service has issued a tender for upgrading the financial management information system. It closes on September 23.
The Residential Tenancies Authority issued a tender for Windows Enterprise and Enterprise Mobility and Securitycloses on September 26.
In Victoria, The Department of Justice and Community Safety has issued a tender for a new case management system.
Department of Premier and Cabinet’s Digital Market Place pass the test phase and good to go next year! Today is “looking for an experienced ServiceNow partner to contract to manage the platform, support, maintain and develop the Marketplace within the ServiceNow cloud.” It closes on October 4.

In the federal government, Data#3 won a $7 million contract to provide ‘computer services’ to the Department of Defense, under the ‘limited soft condition’. due to lack of competition for technical reasons.
ArchTIS also scores with Defense, including a new deal centered on its NC Protect software to help increase access control and file security levels of classified and sensitive information.
In NSW, Giant global systems integrator Capgemini has acquired a $33.1 million modernization solution at Transport NSW – Corporate.
Data#3 won a $205,730.25 contract to provide Accelion Secure File Transfer (Kiteworks) Cloud 2022 to the Department of Communities and Justice.
Vendor SAS Institute won a $181,533.00 contract to provide renewal of SAS and Qlik licenses and maintenance support for the Workers Compensation legacy analytics environment in BROKEN.
In the Northern Territory, Give it to Catchlog Trading! The company acquired a $132,000 contract with the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade, Fisheries to support FishDAT: the e-log software for NT commercial fisheries.
The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade has issued a $17,879.40 contract with Intergraph Corporation for the provision of ER Mapper Software License Maintenance.
In Tasmania, Folk Pty Ltd has secured a $162,070 contract with the Department of Health to support ‘investigation and discovery on the Department of Health’s existing intranet.
In Victoria, TWEEK! won a $113,087 contract with Melbourne Polytechnic to provide a policy document development system. Services the company will provide to the industry’s leading training agency include “software implementation and migration of up to 300 policy documents to the new policy document generation system.”
The digital transformation of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning is progressing rapidly and, like many other agencies, it is investing in a digital twin. WSP Australia sealed the deal this time: winning a $1.3 million contract to be the ‘Digital Twin Victoria Innovation and Solution Delivery Partner’ for the agency. The ‘“flagship program… looks to recreate Victoria online, spatially and in 3D. This contract brings in multi-skilled technology providers to work across teams to develop technology solutions for a number of critical use cases under the program. Supplier work[s] close to the team for the next 2.5 years offering innovative engineering solutions and IT skills.
