ServiceNow announced that it has acquired the start-up company Loom Systems. This is an Israeli start-up company that specializes in monitoring IT infrastructure.

The loom system has developed a solution called Sophie. Sophie makes it possible to monitor IT infrastructure, and by adding artificial intelligence (AI), it can accurately determine the location of failures in the infrastructure. This may be what makes the Loom Systems solution so ideal.

Sophie collects all the company’s log and metric data in a database. Then the AI engine will traverse all these logs and report if an abnormal situation or problem is found. For example, consider that the server is not functioning properly or has performance issues. The same applies if the application is no longer responsive or fast enough. The message generated by Sophie is drafted in English with tips that IT administrators should look for. In addition, Sophie can show how similar problems have been solved in the past.

Customers of Loom Systems include the United Nations and Microsoft. In this way, the solution seems to prove itself in any situation. The solution belongs to the emerging AIOps category. VMware recently acquired Nyansa, which belongs to the same category.

For ServiceNow, this solution is very suitable for its IT service management business. For more information about ServiceNow, please read our article: No one knows what ServiceNow does and what you can do with it.
