Today’s ServiceNow Inc. Announce Cooperation with IBM to provide automatic problem detection capabilities supported by IBM Watson AIOps products.
The publicly traded ServiceNow’s Now platform provides a centralized hub where the information technology team can manage the company’s infrastructure and applications. Watson AIOps is an IBM software product that uses machine learning to detect IT problems, such as network outages.
The two companies are preparing to integrate later this year to integrate these two products. IT professionals will be able to view issues detected by Watson AIOps in the ServiceNow interface and perform daily tasks through this interface. In addition, Watson AIOps will provide advice on how to resolve the issues it detects.
The integration takes advantage of the fact that because ServiceNow’s platform tends to play a central role in its customers’ IT operations, it can provide up-to-date data on the state of its infrastructure. Watson AIOps analyzes the data in ServiceNow to create a baseline model that describes how the company’s technology environment generally operates. It finds anomalies by looking for events that are different from the baseline.
ServiceNow and IBM position solutions as a way to reduce the time required to solve technical problems. The two companies cited data from early customer deployments, saying that in some cases, Watson AIOps can increase troubleshooting speed by more than 60%. For example, this may mean a 60% reduction in downtime when mission-critical business applications are offline.
IBM CEO Arvind Krishna said: “By working with ServiceNow and its market-leading Now Platform, customers will be able to use AI to quickly reduce the cost of unforeseen IT incidents.”
The two companies will jointly promote the solution to the market to promote the adoption of the solution among customers. Pablo Stern, senior vice president of IT Workflow Products at ServiceNow, said: “IBM is expanding its global ServiceNow business to include additional capabilities for consulting, implementation and hosting services on the Now platform.” Blog post. “ServiceNow is co-investing to train and certify IBM employees and dedicated employees for customer success.”
This collaboration will allow IBM to make Watson AIOps more attractive to many organizations using ServiceNow-in turn, these organizations are becoming able to provide customers with more automation capabilities to simplify their IT workflows.
The fact that Watson AIOps will use the company’s IT infrastructure data retained in ServiceNow to find anomalies highlights the increasing importance of ServiceNow’s data management capabilities to its overall product strategy. The company has recently been enhancing this part of its feature set.In June Acquired the Belgian startup Sweagle NV, which has a database for storing configuration information about the state of the company’s applications and infrastructure.
