Bill McDermott, who has announced his retirement from the CEO of SAP Germany, was appointed as the next CEO of ServiceNow on October 22. McDermott will replace John Donahoe, who is about to retire. Donahoe will become Nike’s chief executive officer.
According to ServiceNow, McDermott will join ServiceNow after completing the SAP acquisition. Donahoe has been the CEO of ServiceNow since 2017 and also served as the CEO of eBay. Since 2014, Donahoe has been a member of Nike’s board of directors.
McDermott said in a statement that he “inspired” the leadership of “one of the most exciting innovative and growing companies in the world.”
He said: “The company (ServiceNow) has a transformative platform, outstanding talent and endless possibilities. Fred Luddy is a firm foundation for the company’s bright future. I am honored to succeed John, and I We will do our best to bring ServiceNow’s outstanding achievements to a new page.”
ServiceNow also announced preliminary financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2019 and revised its full-year guidance. Sales in the third quarter are expected to increase by 32% year-on-year to $885.8 million. In addition, the subscription fee for the third quarter was US$864 million (approximately 93.6 billion yen). For the full year of 2019, subscription sales are expected to be between US$3.24 billion and US$3.25 billion, and subscription billing is expected to be between US$3.74 billion and US$3.745 billion.
