ServiceNow acquires mobile application analytics startup Appsee

ServiceNow

ServiceNow announced that it will acquire Appsee. Appsee is an analytics startup that aims to help developers understand how users interact with their mobile applications. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.

Silicon Angle knows that Appsee, a startup from Tel Aviv, has developed an analytics platform that can gradually understand consumer behavior in the application. Flagship is User Recordings, which is a tool that visualizes every page, menu, and button that consumers interact with during a session in the form of a chronological timeline. It also shows the number of seconds the user spends at each step.

Appsee also has a feature called Touch Heatmaps. This allows developers to see if consumers use certain parts of the application more than others. This function can be used to find parts of the interface that may need further optimization.

In addition, developers can use the Appsee dashboard to display trends and user statistics for the entire user group of the application. For example, an e-commerce company can use the platform to determine the main reason people put things in their shopping carts but never check out.

take over

After the acquisition, ServiceNow plans to use Appsee to find ways to improve its Now platform interface. Now Platform consists of cloud-based tools that can help companies automate technical support operations, related IT tasks, and certain workflows. In addition, companies can build their own services on the Now platform and apply automation capabilities to other use cases.

“Users of the Now platform will eventually be able to better analyze how their end users use the Now platform to make their work easier,” said Boaz Hecht, senior director of product management.

ServiceNow expects the acquisition to be completed by the end of the quarter. Then the two co-founders and engineering team of Appsee must join the company to support product development.
